
The International Development Research Centre (IDRC), Canada has provided a grant to TECHNONET Asia to enable it to undertake a research Project entitled "SME Support Organizations Network - Asia".
The overall objective of the Project is to establish an electronic network among SME support organizations in Asia to assist the SME organizations establish global linkages for tapping new business opportunities, technologies and other needed information. Support organizations will prepare the SMEs for cyber business promotion and gain better access to international markets.

The Bangladesh Small and Cottage Industries Corporation (BSCIC) was established by an Act of Parliament in 1957 for the development of Small and Cottage Industries (SCI) sector. Today it is the largest SME promotion agency functioning under the Ministry of Industry providing a wide rage of services to the SMEs covering all the 64 districts in the country. |

The Dhaka Chamber of Commerce & Industry (DCCI) was established in 1958 as a limited company under the Companies Act. Currently it has over 4,000 members, a majority of whom falls under the SME group. Currently DCCI has two ongoing special projects dealing with SMEs export capacity development and skill upgrading for enhancing business efficiency. DCCI helps local businesses to establish business links with overseas companies. |

The Federation of Nepalese Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) is the apex body of business and industries in Nepal and it was established in 1965. FNCCI got actively involved in SME promotion since 1992. It is now implementing several international cooperation projects on SME promotion funded by USAID, FNS, EU, and UNDP. |

The Industrial Enterprise Development Institute (IEDI) has been created in 1995 out of the Small Business Promotion Project (SBPP). Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) was founded in 1963 in Hanoi with the objective of promoting trade between Vietnam and foreign countries. Since the opening of the economy, VCCI has embarked on a wide range of business promotion activities contributing towards rapid economic development via state and private sector enterprises inclusive of SMEs. The VCCI has also created a special unit, the Small and Medium Enterprise Promotion Centre (SMEPC) to serve as a one-stop service centre for SMEs. |
